Tressa is a seasoned professional singer, actress, model and film producer based in Chicago, IL. She began singing at age three, had her own band by age five, and by the time she reached the ripe old age of 7, had more than forty-five live performances to her credit.
Tressa's feature film debut (at age 12) was the Robert Townsend film, "The Five Heartbeats", which also enabled her to record with R&B great, Patti LaBelle on the movie's soundtrack. Tressa's other films include Flat Liners, Message In A Bottle and the singing role of Ruth Brown in NBC's "The Little Richard Story".
With a BFA in Multimedia Production from Columbia College Chicago, Tressa has also expanded her wealth of experience in film production and post-production editing. She has produced three independent short films, two of which were accepted to the Hollywood Black Film Festival and The Washington DC Independent Film Festival.
Another independent short - “The Yesterday Pool” - starring Hollywood Legend Mickey Rooney, for which Tressa was the Unit Production Manager, was included in the screening competition round for live-action short film for the 2008 Academy Awards® at Laemmle Theater in Hollywood, CA
Having been featured in Plus Model Magazine, she aspires to be yet another confident face in the world of full-figured women. She has also been featured in Ebony, Jet, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety Magazine, The LA Times, The Associated Press and as a spokes model for E’LON Couture Cosmetics. She recently performed with the Legendary Barbra Streisand at Chicago's United Center as part of the Chicago Christian Choir of Temple of Glory, International.
Tressa released her first single, "ThYck Glow", which is available on iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon.com, and is currently working on her debut album - HYBRID SOUL - produced by The Soul People Band of Chicago.
Tressa Thomas is signed to the Grossman & Jack Talent (Chicago) and DeSanti Models (Chicago) and is a member of SAG/AFTRA.
